Crusaders lost top spot in the Carnegie Premier League after United's comeback victory at the Showgrounds on Saturday. Davy Larmour's six-yard finish on 36 minutes put the visitors ahead while Crues keeper Neill Armstrong touched Darren Murphy's shot onto the crossbar.
The Sky Blues equalised in the 58th minute when Gary Haveron headed in from Mark Picking's corner.
Scottish striker Kevin Kelbie fired home on 74 minutes after being played in by Picking to win it for Ballymena.
