Roy Coyle's Newry side had already qualified for the quarter-finals |
Newry City's impressive start to the season continued when they hammered Loughgall in the last round of CIS Cup group games at Lakeview Park. Richard Clarke opened the scoring for Newry in the 22nd minute and Cormac McArdle then doubled City's advantage.
David Ward slammed in Newry's third on the stroke of half-time after good work by Lee Feeney.
Noel Robinson's own goal put Newry 4-0 up and David Ward hit the fifth before Alistair Wilson's late 'Gall penalty.
Newry had already qualified for the CIS Cup quarter-finals before Saturday's game and manager Roy Coyle will have been pleased with his team's commitment at Loughgall.
