Darren Murphy has joined Ballymena United from Dungannon Swifts in a two-year deal. The 31-year-old had his written transfer request accepted by the the Swifts earlier this week.
The former Linfield player, who can play in midfield or defence, became disillusioned after failing to make the Dungannon squad this season.
Ballymena boss Tommy Wright has been busy in the transfer market this summer, bringing in six new players.
Paul Murphy, Mark Picking, Austin Friel, Lee Patrick and Aaron Callaghan are the other new arrivals at the Showgrounds.
