 Gary McCutcheon netted for new club Portadown |
A youthful Limavady side earned a point against Portadown thanks to a 77th minute equaliser from Ryan Semple. Tony Shields drilled the ball into the net on 24 minutes and three minutes later Gary McCutcheon turned and fired home a right foot shot to equalise.
McCutcheon, Wesley Boyle and Allan Smart had chances before McCutcheon's shot was blocked and Smart hammered the ball into the roof of the net after 63.
Semple scored after Michael Dougherty miscued a back pass from Jamie Marks.
The Ports had the best of the early exchanges but Ryan MCreadie set up Shields to give the home side the lead.
McCutcheon levelled after the ball fell to him following a long ball forward by Barry Hunter.
Alan Ryan denied the former Larne striker and Boyle but Limavady came into the game more in the second period.
