Second-half goals from substitutes Peter Lovenkrands and Ross McCormack gave Rangers victory over Irish Premier side Linfield in Belfast. New signings Federico Nieto and Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan made their debuts for the Scottish champions.
Lovenkrands headed Rangers into the lead on 52 minutes from close-range after Thomas Buffel's left-flank cross.
Rickson had a shot come off the Linfield bar before McCormack slid the ball past Alan Mannus for number two.
In the first half, Tim Mouncey had a great chance to give David Jeffrey's side the lead but he struck the ball wide.
