Roy Coyle's side have failed to win in four home league matches |
The Irish League's most successful manager Roy Coyle has described Glentoran's current slump as his lowest moment in football. Coyle saw his champions slip 18 points behind leaders Linfield after losing at home to Limavady United on Saturday.
"We are having a really bad season and I hold my hands up for that because, when it comes to results, I am responsible," Coyle told Sunday Life.
"This is probably the lowest I have been in my career as a manager."
The Glens have been in turmoil since losing the 10 December CIS Cup final to Linfield. That ended a 21-match unbeaten run from the start of the domestic season.
They lost at home to Ballymena United just three days later and then crashed 4-1 to Linfield on Boxing Day.
Coyle's side have won just one of their last seven in the championship - a 1-0 win over bottom club Ards.
Last season they won the league title and the CIS Insurance Cup.
On Tuesday, they face rivals Linfield again in the semi-finals of the Crest County Antrim Shield.
