Nixon and Fenlon welcome cup draw
Glentoran's Colin Nixon
Glentoran's Colin Nixon is happy with the Champions League draw
Glentoran defender Colin Nixon and Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon are happy with the draw for the Champions League.

The Irish League and League of Ireland champions were paired together, with the first leg to be played in Belfast.

"It's a good draw. We know a bit about Shelbourne, we don't have too far to travel and we have a chance of reaching the next round," said Nixon.

"We are happy from a football and a financial point of view. It promises to be a great tie," said the Shels boss.

"It's good that we are not travelling halfway round Europe and both clubs will fancy their chances.

"People are expecting big things from us after we got through two rounds last season but Glentoran will provide a stiff test for us," added Fenlon.

Nixon is expecting a tough match but says the Glens will be "ready for Shelbourne".

"We had a good season but we will prepare well for this and pay Shelbourne the respect they deserve.

"We have a better chance of progressing than if we drew one of the bigger teams like Liverpool so we are happy enough.

"Shelbourne did well in Europe last year but it will be very tight," said the Shelbourne boss.
