Sunday football plan turned down
Action from the Irish League
Clubs are not allowed to play Irish League fixtures on Sundays
The latest attempt to remove the ban on Irish League clubs playing on Sundays has failed.

A motion, proposed by Armagh City and seconded by Ballynure OB, to permit Sunday play was defeated by 54 votes to 28 at the Irish FA's annual meeting.

Supporters of the proposal said the decision would have implications for the NI Women's FA who currently play many of their fixtures on Sundays.

They described the latest vote as bad news for Northern Ireland football.
