Striker Jody Tolan has described his move from Coleraine to Glentoran as a massive challenge. The 27-year-old completed the transfer to the Oval on Wednesday, signing a three-year deal with the Belfast club.
"I would be foolish not to be happy joining the Irish League champions. Just look at the players I will be teaming up with," said Tolan.
"It was time to move on. There is no ambition at Coleraine as they want to consolidate after the money problems."
Tolan joined the Bannsiders from Cliftonville in 2000 and his departure will be a huge blow to Coleraine boss Marty Quinn as he struggles to keep his big-name players at the Showgrounds.
The striker scored Coleraine's winning goal in the 2003 Irish Cup final.
"I had some happy times at Coleraine, reaching two Irish Cup finals and finishing second in the league," added the former Cliftonville front man.
"But the last 12 months were difficult. It was unfortunate the way things turned out."
