Linfield celebrated winning the first Setanta Cup |
Belfast's big two of Linfield and Glentoran have been drawn in the same Setanta Cup group as Derry City. Linfield, winners of the inaugural All-Ireland competition, will kick-off the 2006 event at home to Derry on Monday, 20 February.
It will be the first competitive meeting between the clubs since Derry left the Irish League in 1972.
Shelbourne make up the rest of the group, with Cork City, Dungannon, Portadown and Drogheda in the other.
The earlier February start means Eircom League clubs will be playing in the Setanta Cup before their domestic season begins.
