Dungannon's Rodney McAree hurt a knee during training |
Dungannon Swifts midfielder Rodney McAree has suffered another injury setback less than two months after returning from a lengthy lay-off. McAree sustained slight medial ligament damage during shooting practice at training on Thursday.
"The physio says it could be four to six weeks although I know Rodney will want to be back sooner," said Joe McAree, the Dungannon manager.
Former Fulham player McAree returned in September after ankle surgery.
"It is a big blow for us. Rodney might be my son but he is one of he best passers of a ball in the Irish League," added McAree.
"We are also anxious to get skipper Gary Fitzpatrick back from a hamstring injury.
"I am hoping he can do some light training on Tuesday night."
