Striker Kevin Ramsey was on target twice at Clandeboye |
Kevin Ramsey grabbed a brace as Institute beat Ards by a flattering margin at Clandeboye Park on Tuesday. Darren McCreadie opened the scoring when he hit a first-time shot past Ian Lester on 21 minutes but Ross Hegan equalised with a 33rd minute header.
Ramsey banged the ball home from eight yards to restore Institute's advantage 20 minutes into the second half.
The striker added his second after 85 minutes and Tommy McCallion scored the fourth with a cross-shot on 88 minutes.
McCreadie's opener came about after Ryan McIlmoyle's cross from the left was miskicked by Ards defender Ryan Davidson in the penalty area.
Hegan equalised for Ards when he rose high above the visiting defence to head low past goalkeeper Gary Ramsey.
Ramsey notched his first after Lester had saved his initial effort, but couldn't hold onto the ball.
The former Limavady man took full advantage of Ards' efforts to find an equaliser when he exploited the gaps in their defence to slot home the third.
McCallion cut in from the left and netted brilliantly to complete a comfortable win.
