Roy Coyle's Glentoran enjoyed a great run in February |
A 100% league record and beating Linfield in the Irish Cup have earned Glentoran's Roy Coyle the Harp manager of the month award for February. The Glens did not concede a goal as they beat Cliftonville, Coleraine and Loughgall in the IPL but the 3-0 replay win over Linfield was the highlight.
"We played our best football for two or three years in that game," said Coyle.
"Many people thought that when they held us at the Oval with 10 men the fixture was over."
With the Irish Premier title race reaching an exciting finale, Coyle believes his squad has what it takes to regain the crown they last won in 2003.
"You cannot afford to slip at this stage because there is not time for you to recover, you run out of games," added.
"Whatever fixtures is put in front of you at this stage of the season you have to be brave enough to take it on.
"Our squad has a good balance of experience and youth, but most of them have been in this kind of situation before."
