Kevin Keegan got Glentoran's first goal against Limavady United |
Glentoran are level on points with Irish Premier League leaders Linfield after winning 2-0 at home to Limavady United at the Oval. As expected, Tommy Wright's fourth-placed United gave the Glens a tough game with the opening goal not coming until the 60th minute.
Kevin Keegan hooked it in after keeper Michael Doherty's mistake.
Chris Morgan made sure of the win in stoppage-time, scoring from eight yards after Sean Ward had created the chance.
It was Morgan's 22nd goal of the season and his third in consecutive matches.
Midway through the first half the Glens suffered an injury setback when influential midfielder Darren Lockhart had to go off.
Michael Halliday had the Glens' best first half chance but his header was cleared off the line by Brendan Devenney.
Limavady's best opening fell to Ryan McIlmoyle but he scuffed his shot side.
It was only the Roesiders' third league defeat of what has been a fine season.
Glentoran are tied on 53 points with champions Linfield who are a goal better off on goal difference.
