Ballymena 0-0 H & W Welders
Gary Smyth of Ballymena
Gary Smyth of Ballymena had a free-kick saved by David Henry
First Division H & W Welders held on to force a replay against Premier League side Ballymena United at Warden Street.

The Welders were under pressure from the start and keeper David Henry made a brave at the feet of Justin McBride after spilling a Garth Scates free.

He then dived to stop one of Gary Smyth's trademark free-kicks from just outside the penalty box.

United sent on subs Rory Hamill and Darren Fitzgerald but they could not crack a strong Welders defence.

Then Richard Adair came close to snatching a late winner for the visitors.

The replay will be back at the Showgrounds in Ballymena on Tuesday with a 1945 GMT kick-off.
