Shea Campbell was the matchwinner for Glenavon |
A fine right-foot finish from Shea Campbell on 29 minutes gave Glenavon the win against Distillery, who remain pointless after three league fixtures. Campbell also played his part in the first, intercepting the ball on the left before crossing and watching Ryan McCann put the ball into his own net.
Darren Armour gave the Whites hope by stroking home a penalty on 45 minutes when Aaron Black fouled Francis Murphy.
Both sides had chances to add to their tally in the second half.
John Martin and Damien McLaughlin had chances to equalise for the Whites while Conor Walsh's effort went over the bar at the other end of the pitch.
Distillery goalkeeper Philip Matthews pushed Gerard McMahon's attempt past the post and Kieran O'Connor's shot onto the upright.
