Pat McAllister headed Newry into the lead against Ballymena |
Newry City got their first points of the Irish Premier League campaign with Pat McAllister scoring the only goal on 37 minutes at the Showgrounds. McAllister got up best to head in from a Stephen Ferguson corner.
Having lost their IPL opener 5-1 at Portadown, it was just the boost managerless City were looking for.
There were chances at both ends but the second goal did not come until stoppage-time when Andy Crawford made sure of the points for Newry.
