Marc McCann equalised on 85 minutes at Shamrock Park |
Portadown scored twice in the last five minutes to snatch a 2-1 win over 10-man Newry City at Shamrock Park. Subs Marc McCann and Paddy Quinn sealed Portadown's place as Group Two winners.
Newry had taken a 27th-minute lead through a Richard Clarke shot but then had Alan Murphy sent-off for the second time this season.
Things did not look good for Portadown, with Michael Collins, tossing his shirt towards the dug-out after being subbed, but those late goals turned the match.
McCann latched on to a John Convery header to equalise on 85 minutes and then Quinn punished poor defending to slam home from inside the area.
Murphy's 56th-minute dismissal was for elbowing Portadown's Kyle Neill, although City boss Roy McCreadie labelled it a poor decision.
