Mark Dickson was on target in Larne's 2-0 CIS win |
Larne got their first points of the CIS Insurance Cup campaign with Bertie Fulton and Mark Dickson scoring second half goals at New Grosvenor. Fulton pounced to hammer in on 55 minutes after keeper Philip Matthews had punched away a Gary McCutcheon lob.
Then Dickson netted with a fine curling shot 12 minutes later.
Just before the opener, Lisburn Distillery had been awarded a penalty but Larne keeper Alex Spackman saved Francis Murphy's spot-kick.
The result is a setback for Lisburn Distillery who were seeking the win to go top of Group Four.
They had the best chances in the first half with Sean Armstrong having a volley blocked and Ryan McCann clipping Spackman's crossbar just before the break.
Murphy missed from a good position for the Whites just before Larne for their second.
Larne remain bottom of Group Four but are well in contention with the battle for quarter-finals places at the halfway stage.
