Limavady bounced back from their 6-1 midweek hammering against Linfield by claiming a CIS Cup Group Three success at Clandeboye Park. Andrew Waterworth twice went close for Ards in the opening 45 minutes while Paul Owens wasted a good opening for the north-west visitors.
Ryan Semple scored the winner five minutes after the break with a six-yard finish from an Owens cross.
Lee Patrick came close to doubling the lead when he headed just wide.
