Newry City 2-5 Loughgall
Loughgall manager Jim Gardiner
Jim Gardiner's Loughgall hit five away to Newry City
Loughgall ended a miserable run of four successive league defeats with a sensational win away to Newry City.

Stephen Coulter was the star of a five-goal feast, bagging a first half hat-trick to send Loughgall to only their third win of the campaign.

Coulter's three goals were sandwiched between Alistair Wilson's opener and a late header from Stefan McNally.

Newry had briefly led thanks to a Robert Casey penalty shortly after Barry Meehan's equaliser.

Wilson's breakthrough goal came on 11 minutes when he pounced on a loose ball after City keeper Gavin Cullen had done well to parry a first shot from Darragh Peden.

Three-man move

Loughgall's lead lasted just two minutes as Meehan poked in the equaliser from close-range following a Colm McCullagh corner.

Newry took the lead with a penalty after 15 minutes, Casey scoring after Noel Robinson's foul on Michael McHugh.

Loughgall hit back to regain the lead thanks to two goals from Stephen Coulter. First, on 24 minutes, he finished off a fine three-man move after Keith Percy had played he ball out to Wilson who supplied the final cross.

Coulter then shook off the challenge of defender Paul Donegan and lifted the ball over keeper Cullen from 20 yards.

Coulter lobbed Cullen again to complete his hat-trick on 43 minutes, giving Loughgall a 4-2 lead.

Stefan McNally stooped to head in Loughgall's fifth from a Brian Adair cross on 85 minutes.

It capped a great night for Loughgall who had not scored more than two goals in any of their previous 13 league and cup games this season.
