Linfield recovered from a slow start to edge out Crusaders at Windsor Park. Colin Magill had a couple of early chances for the visitors but he shot straight at Alan Mannus both times.
Stephen Douglas then put Linfield ahead in the 27th minute after a mistake by goalkeeper Lee Windrum and Andrew Hunter headed the second on 35 minutes.
Magill pulled a goal back for Crusaders in the 67th minute while at the other end, Windrum tipped a Davy Larmour header onto the woodwork.
