Kilmore wreck Ballymena hopes
Kenny Shiels' side defeated Linfield on Saturday
Kenny Shiels' side came back to earth with a bump
Junior outfit Kilmore Rec hit a 88th minute goal to dump Ballymena United out of the County Antrim Shield on Tuesday night.

Alan Waterworth's late goal earned a shock 1-0 success which brought Ballymena back to earth with a bump after Saturday's win over Linfield.

Premier Division Larne crashed to a 3-2 home defeat by Bangor.

However, Linfield, Ards, Cliftonville and Crusaders all safely progressed to the second round.

Holders Linfield were never in any trouble against Malachians at Windsor Park.

Andrew Hunter notched two first half goals while Aidan O'Kane also had a penalty saved before the interval.

Peter Thompson, James Bell and O'Kane added goals in the second half.

Linfield suffered an injury blow in the first half when Darren Murphy had to be carried off.

Malachians may point to a penalty shout they had turned down in the 42nd minute when the referee deliberated for some time before awarding a goal kick.

Goals from Darren Fitzgerald (10) and David Rainey (68) helped Ards claim a 2-1 win over Dundela. Tommy Parker scored Dundela's goal in the 81st minute.

Cliftonville needed two late goals to beat a brave Larne Tech Old Boys outfit 2-1.

Paul Maguire gave the Larne side a 13th minute lead at Solitude but Chris Scannell levelled in the 70th minute and Sean Hennigan hit the winner three minutes later.

Ricky Moore of Larne Tech was sent off in the 89th minute after getting his second booking.

Crusaders defeated Ballymoney United 3-1 at Seaview.

Paul Dickson put Crusaders ahead with a seventh minute goal and Colin Magill doubled the lead in the 33rd minute.

Brian Russell added a third goal for Crusaders a minute into the second half before John Neill pulled a goal back for Ballymoney in the 57th minute.

Bangor claimed a 3-2 win at Larne although they had to withstand a fightback from the home side in the closing stages.

David Officer put Bangor 1-0 up with a 27th minute goal.

Andrew Massey added a second goal on the half-hour and Officer notched his second goal of the night five minutes before half-time.

Bangor's Gavin Johnston was sent off in the 43rd minute after a bad challenge on Larne's Stephen Small.

Jim Crossley and Wayne Lorimer replied for Larne in the 60th and 69th minutes but Bangor held out for the win.

Meanwhile, goals from Vincent Sweeney (25) and Ryan McIlmoyle (45) earned Limavady United a 2-0 win over Institute in the Village Windows North West Cup Final at the Limavady Showgrounds.
