Glens outclassed by Palace
Action the Crystal Palace's 5-0 win over Glentoran
Palace's Andy Johnson goes up with Glens skipper Paul Leeman
Andy Johnson scored a hat-trick as Premiership newboys Crystal Palace beat Irish Cup holders Glentoran 5-0.

Substitute Tommy Black scored the other two as Iain Dowie's side got the second win of their Northern Ireland tour.

Despite the heavy defeat Glens boss Roy Coyle was happy his players were being tested by top flight opposition.

"I hope the boys learn from this game. It will help in the build-up for the Uefa Cup game," said Coyle looking to a second leg against AC Allianssi.

"Playing against full-time teams like Palace will be better preparation for the second-leg in Finland than if we were up against other Irish League clubs in the early stages of our season," added Coyle.

"These teams play football for a living and have better fitness levels and skills than we do."

Palace took the lead when Johnson pounced after a Dougie Freedman had crashed against the Glentoran crossbar.

Johnson's second of the game came two minutes before half-time when he shot under keeper Elliott Morris.

Black, who had also scored two against Crusaders on Wednesday, got his first on 48 minutes and his second three minutes later with a low right-foot drive.

Johnson completed his hat-trick on 70 minutes when a cross from Tom Soares was powerfully headed past Morris.
