Coleraine's Gareth McAuley is going to Stockport on trial

The 24-year-old has been given the chance by former Northern Ireland manager Sammy McIlroy who gave McAuley his first 'B' international call-up.

Lincoln City were also reported to be interested in the 24-year-old who moved to Coleraine from Crusaders in 2002.

"I have waited a long time to gain any sort of foothold with a cross-channel club," said McAuley.

"It is a great opportunity for me and it is up to me to make the most of it."

McAuley is due to report at Edgeley Park in early July.
