Gary Fitzpatrick competes with Distillery scorer Darren Armour |
Darren Armour scored both goals as Lisburn Distillery got their first win of the Irish Premier League campaign. After taking just one point from their opening three fixtures, the pressure was on Paul Kirk's men to deliver the goods against Dungannon Swifts.
And the Whites rose to the challenge with a good display at New Grosvenor.
Armour headed in the first after Francie Murphy had floated in a free-kick and then pounced from close-range for the second.
The first goal was on 42 minutes, towards the end of a first half in which both sids had chances.
Distillery's Tim Mouncey clipped an upright with a shot after two minutes while Dungannon's Rodney McAree was just wide with a shot and Gary Bownes also went close.
Armour's eighth goal of the season then set Paul Kirk's men on their way in thye 43rd minute and he doubled the dose by side-footing in from six yards from James Willis' bye-line pull-back.
Armour had a great chance to complete a hat-trick but shot wide from a penalty.
