Stephen Kenny's Derry City failed to put away St Patrick's |
Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic shared the Eircom League spoils at the Brandywell on Thursday night. The Candystripes opened the scoring in the 41st minute through Conor O'Grady who had come on as a first-half substitute for Gary Beckett.
St Pat's levelled just after the restart with a great strike from Aidan O'Keefe.
Derry finished the stronger but could not find the winner despite a series of corners
Derry were slow to start, but a brief spell before half-time saw them score in the 41st minute when O'Grady flicked home a corner from Sean Hargan.
St Pat's, however, were level seven minutes on the resumption with a fine individual effort from O'Keefe who drifted past three defenders before toe-ending a shot into the net for his eighth goal of the season.
Derry City manager Stephen Kenny frequently changed his formation in the hope of breaking down the Dubliners defence, but the home side had to be satisfied with a point.
