Whites boss Paul Kirk with Terry Loughins of Guinness |
Lisburn Distillery's Paul Kirk has been named Guinness Manager of the Month for March. His reward comes after lifting the Ballyskeagh side into third place in the Irish League Premiership.
Kirk said the recognition was "a reflection on the hard work by players, backroom staff, chairman and directors - a family club pulling together".
Kirk has brought a professional approach to the Whites including the appointment of a sports psychologist.
Kirk is now targeting an InterToto Cup place with the Northern Ireland representative having been paired with a Danish club and then a Spanish one should they reach the next round.
"We have a tough game against Cliftonville on Saturday,'' he said. ''The Reds are fighting for points to avoid a play-off. Their close rivals, Crusaders' win at Omagh has put even more pressure on them.
"Our ambition was to get into the top six and this season we felt we could go further. We have achieved that without purchasing any players."
