Ards, boosted by opening wins over Crusaders and Limavady United, got a further lift when Sean Cleary headed them into an eighth minute lead from a David Williamson corner.
Frankie Parks' men stayed in front until the 68th minute when Rory Hamill struck for the Bannsiders.
A poor clearance by Cleary fell to Hamill whose shot struck the inside of the post and went into the net via a rebound off keeper Stephen Robertson.
Coleraine went into the lead in the 86th minute when Jody Tolan applied a back post finish a Stewart Clanachan cross.
A minute from time Tony Gorman made sure of Coleraine's victory, following up to score after Robertson had failed to hold his initial shot.
