Limavady United 0-6 Portadown Kyle Neill scored a couple in Portadown's 5-0 win over Limavady |
Portadown returned to the top of the Irish League Premier Division with a convincing win away to Limavady United.
Portadown, who dropped their first points of the season in last Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Linfield, had to do without frontman Gary Hamilton who was on international duty with Northern Ireland's Under-21s.
But his strike partner Vinny Arkins and midfielder Kyle Neill made up for Hamilton's absence by each netting twice.
It was Neill who got the breakthrough for his hometown club on 33 minutes, scoring from close-range.
Arkins got his first on the hour with a shot and four minutes later his header madfe it 3-0 for Ronnie McFall's men.
Neill made it four for the rampant Ports on 77 minutes shooting in after Peter McCann had played the ball back.
Wesley Boyle scored the fifth for the Ports on 82 minutes hitting the net with a right-foot shot.
And Limavady's misery was completed when Martin Cutmore put he ball into his own net to make it 6-0 for the Ports four minuts from time.
Portadown now lead overnight table-toppers Cliftonville by a point after the Reds lost 1-0 away to Linfield.
