Roy Coyle has had league and cup success at Glentoran |
Roy Coyle has signed a new four-year contract to stay on as manager of Irish League champions Glentoran.
It should make Coyle the longest-serving boss in the history of the east Belfast club.
Coyle, who had previously been in charge of Linfield, Ards and Derry City, came to the Oval in November 1997 to replace the sacked Tommy Cassidy.
He immediately guided the Glens to an Irish Cup success.
So far under Coyle, Glentoran have won two Irish League titles, the Irish Cup three times, the CIS League Cup twice and the County Antrim Shield on five occasions.
Glentoran also won the now defunct Gold Cup three times.
"I am absolutely delighted and appreciate the club feel that I am still the right man for the job," said Coyle.
"I am loving it and I hope we can continue the success which has been ongoing since 1997."
Glentoran chairman Stafford Reynolds said it had been important to secure Coyle's services for another four years.
