Wayne Rooney played in the Milk Cup in 2000 |
Everton star Wayne Rooney will be in Belfast on 13 May to make the draw for the 2003 Milk Cup.
Rooney played in the youth tournament as a member of Everton's Under-14 side in 2000.
Now he returns as the hottest prospect in English football, having recently signed a lucrative professional contract with the Merseyside club.
The 17-year-old made his full debut for England on 2 April, inspiring them to a 2-0 win over Turkey in Sunderland.
Rooney will be accompanied on the trip by Everton manager David Moyes whose father, also David, has been a keen supporter of the Milk Cup down the years.
The Milk Cup tournament is held annually in the north-west region of Northern Ireland.
The 2003 week-long competition begins on Saturday 19 July.
