Derry City manager Kevin Mahon is keen to sign Kevin McHugh |
Derry City are still hoping to sign Finn Harps striker Kevin McHugh.
The Candystripes are reported to have increased their offer to 40,000 euros.
Derry boss Kevin Mahon is anxious to boost his forward power for the new Eircom League season.
McHugh has been the Harps top scorer for the past two seasons and his scored twice in a recent pre-season friendly against Derry.
The Candystripes kick-off the new season at home to Longford Town on Thursday night but McHugh would not be eligible for that game because of suspension.
However, if the deal is completed, McHugh's Derry debut would probably be in the second game which is away to Shelbourne on Friday 18 April.
Peter Hutton will miss the opener against Longford because of a one-match suspension carried over from last season.
