Michael Gault of Linfield in action against Glenavon |
Linfield's Michael Gault has won the Guinness player of the month award for March.
The promising midfielder pipped Glentoran's Paul Leeman to the award run by the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association.
Nineteen-year-old Gault from Lisburn is rated as one of the brightest prospects at Windsor Park by Blues boss David Jeffrey.
Gault recently signed a contract with Linfield covering the next three and a half years.
The first year computers student at the University of Ulster can play in either midfielder or defence.
Some believe Gault is good enough for a full-time career in English or Scottish League football.
However, the youngster said his priority was to pursue a career in teaching and to play as many games as he could for Lnifield.
"I am really enjoying my football at the moment," said Gault.
"We have a great bunch of lads at Linfield and I love being part of it all."
