 Glentoran's O'Neill was handed a two-match suspension |
Glentoran playmaker Michael O'Neill has been suspended for two games starting from Monday. O'Neill was handed the ban by the IFA Disciplinary Committee following his sending off in the Irish League tie against Linfield at the Oval two weeks ago.
O'Neill, though, will be available for the Nationwide Irish Cup semi-final against fierce rivals Portadown at Mournview Park on Saturday.
All told 12 players were hit by suspensions with Crusaders Jeff Spiers and Ballyclare's Gary Bell handed down four-match spells on the sidelines.
Ards midfielder Alistair McCombe, Crues Davy Munster, Adrian Creane of Institute and Scott Cowie of Larne were given two-match suspensions.
