 Quashie has Scottish ancestry |
Berti Vogts has brought three new faces into the Scotland squad for the international friendly with Denmark. Portsmouth's Nigel Quashie, a former England B international, Norwich's Malky Mackay and Leicester's Peter Canero have all been selected.
Canero's team-mate, Paul Dickov, has been recalled to the squad following his recent troubles in Spain.
Norwich midfielder Gary Holt also returns to the fold for the first time in two years.
Pompey midfielder Nigel Quashie is the most surprising selection, having already represented England at B level.
However, the 25-year-old qualifies for Scotland through his Glasgow-born grandfather.
Former Celtic defender Malky Mackay and his midfield colleague Gary Holt, have been central to the Norwich success story in Nationwide Division One this season.
The Carrow Road side are two points clear at the top of the table and look set to win promotion to the Premiership next season.
Paul Dickov was omitted from the squad for the defeat by Romania last month after he was charged with sexual aggression by a Spanish court.
The former Manchester City striker is currently on bail after an alleged incident at the La Manga resort earlier this year.
Dickov's team-mate at Leicester, Peter Canero, has been enjoying some good form since moving to Filbert Street from Kilmarnock in January.
Scotland meet Denmark at Copenhagen's Parken Stadium on Wednesday, 28 April.
