Craig Gordon: The young Hearts goalkeeper started calmly in his third international and made one good save to deny Ermin Siljak, but after the break he had some nervous moments.

Gary Caldwell: The Hibernian defender made a couple of early clumsy challenges and still looks an unnatural full-back, unable to offer much in attack despite commendable effort.

Andy Webster: The Hearts defender still occasionally looks a bit raw at international level but overall is looking increasingly comfortable in this company. However, the whole defence looked under inreasing pressure after the break.

Malky Mackay: This was only the Norwich City defender's second match of the season due to injury, but he equipped himself well and looked unflappable despite his late introduction to international football until Slovenia took over in the second half.

Gary Naysmith (man of the match):He can still look exposed defensively, but the Everton full-back was one of Scotland's biggest attacking theats. Sent one shot across face of goal before going off injured early in the second half, after which he was badly missed.

Darren Fletcher: The Manchester United midfielder constantly troubled the Slovenian left-hand side with his clever movement and passing in the first half but fell out of the game completely after the break.

Barry Ferguson: The Blackburn Rovers man looks to have returned from serious injury with a new lease of life, probing and controlling the midfield in the first 45 minutes before seemingly running out of steam.

Jackie McNamara: Celtic's Mr Versatile has taken to his holding role in midfield like he has been playing there his whole career but was less effective when moved to cover for the injured Gary Naysmith.

Nigel Quashie: The big Portsmouth midfielder looked ponderous at this level but never lacked commitment and produced one superb drive that forced a good save.

Paul Dickov: The striker won his starting place with some fine performances for Blackburn Rovers, nearly scored within seconds of the restart but was booked and drifted out of the game before being replaced.

James McFadden: The Everton forward was tenacious and inventive as usual and came close to breaking the deadlock with a curling effort but still tries to show off too much at times.

Gary Holt (replaced Naysmith, 58 minutes): Replaced Gary Naysmith after the break and his move into the midfield holding role coincided with Slovenian dominance.

Stevie Crawford (replaced Dickov, 80 minutes): Can count himself unlucky to be on the bench after an excellent display against Spain and was not given enough time in place of Paul Dickov to make an impression.
