Northern Ireland skipper Aaron Hughes hailed Wednesday's 0-0 draw against Spain as a "fantastic result".
Northern Ireland had to defend desperately at times to keep the skilful Spaniards at bay in the Euro 2004 qualifier at Windsor Park.
But it was the home side who missed one of the best chances of the night when David Healy saw his second half shot saved by Casillas.
The point was only Northern Ireland's second of the qualifying campaign, but it was achieved against a highly-rated Spain team who needed victory to go back to the top of the Group Six.
"It is a great result for us," said Hughes, who wore his Newcastle club number of 18 to bring him luck.
"To keep a clean sheet is great and we nearly nicked a goal.

"From goalkeeper to the frontmen I thought we were fantastic. "We had a full house and tried to give the supporters something to shout about.
"For the young lads who have just come into the team it must have been a terrific atmosphere but they responded well.
"The manager should be proud of them and they should be proud of themselves."
Manager Sammy McIlroy was not worried that it was his team's 10th match without a goal.
"Sod the goal, forget the goal," said McIlroy.
"These boys were magnificent. I have praise for every one of them."
