England duo miss training
England's Sol Campbell
England duo Sol Campbell and Wayne Bridge sat out the squad's final training session in Sardinia.

They were suffering from sore feet and were rested as a precaution, but all the others took part before catching a flight back to England.

Chelsea defender Bridge and Arsenal's Campbell are expected to train when the squad resumes preparations in Manchester on Monday.

Darius Vassell, who had a hamstring strain, has returned to full training.

Vassell was the one injury doubt in Eriksson's 23-man squad.

Four Manchester United players - Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Phil Neville - as well as David Beckham and Owen Hargreaves, all had an extra week's training with their clubs.

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, who is with the squad on stand-by, faces the heartbreak of returning home if Vassell stays fit.

Eriksson said: "He knows that and so do the 23 players. They know it is not a competition if he shall be in or out.

"He comes in if we have a problem. I didn't want the other 23 to be competing until the tournament starts.

"We don't have any big problems. I think Vassell will make it, but we've two games to go."

Eriksson can make changes to his provisional squad until 2 June, following the initial warm-up game against Japan, but must then confirm his final 23-man party to Uefa.
