Everything is set up nicely now for England's trip to Turkey on 11 October.
England got the win they needed against Liechtenstein and they top the group - and that is all that counts.
The best things to happen at Old Trafford came in the second half. England got the two goals then came the final whistle. Job done.
After the second goal England huffed and puffed but could not find a way through in the face of damage limitation from Liechtenstein. I think the Old Trafford crowd went away pleased to see the two goals and pleased to see England go top of the group with the three points they needed.
But they will also be a little bit disappointed that England did not go on and score more goals after making the breakthrough.
The team selection did not help, but once England got the goals, the relief was obvious not only to the crowd but also to the players.
After they scored the first, there was only ever going to be one result and now they can start thinking about that crucial game in Turkey.
