England Under-21s remain second in their European Championship qualifying group after a frustrating goalless draw against Lithuania.

The visitors missed a host of chances with Andy Carroll first heading a good chance wide early on and then hitting a post with a 20-yard shot.

The Newcastle striker also contrived to hit the crossbar from close range after having sidestepped the goalkeeper.

However, England remain unbeaten ahead of next March's home game with Greece.

Greece are currently two points clear of England at the top of Group Nine.

One particular sour note for both England and Arsenal was an injury to Gunners defender Keiran Gibbs, who limped out of the match due to an ankle injury after 21 minutes.
