The Scottish FA has announced a new kit agreement with Adidas ahead of the international friendly with Japan.

The deal will run from January 2010 to June 2014, with the new kit making its first appearance at Scotland's friendly against the Czech Republic in March.

Diadora UK ended a seven-year deal when it became insolvent in July with 12 months of its contract remaining.

SFA chief executive Gordon Smith said: "This is a huge show of faith by one of largest sports brands in the world."

German giant Adidas is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe.

"The money that we generate through this new partnership will allow us to continue our huge investment programme in grass roots and youth football," added Smith.

"Every commercial deal we sign and every partnership we enter into has one sole aim - to help us secure the future of our game."
