Scotland 2-0 FYR Macedonia: James McFadden keeps his place, with Kenny Miller and Stephen Fletcher also in attack, Scotland needing to win today to still have a chance at World Cup qualification
Scotland start with Craig Gordon back from injury, Stephen McManus playing his first competitive game in four months, and David Weir, at 39, the oldest man in a Scottish jersey since the 1920s
The game has little verve, on a slippery surface, full of fouls, bad temper, odd decisions, and unsporting behaviour all round, with efforts from Scott Brown and Goran Pandev the closest the first-half comes to a goal
With both teams needing to win to have any chance of a runner-up play-off spot for South Africa 2010 the game boils over just before the break, with Brown and McFadden both shown yellow cards
The second half is a different game, with Miller and McFadden working chances and Gordon making a good block in the opening 10 minutes before Brown's feint header opens the scoring
McFadden then scores a second, running from his own half, past three players and the goalkeeper, a wonderful moment but his booking means he will miss the vital home game against Netherlands on Wednesday
England 2-1 Slovenia: Fabio Capello has the opportunity to give further international experience to players ahead of Wednesday's qualifier against Croatia but John Terry is passed fit to captain the side
In this first ever match between the two sides it is the visitors who make the early running and the game's first chance, displaying more pace and passing organisation than their hosts
England come back in to the match with Wayne Rooney carving a chance for himself before Terry crashes a header against the crossbar from a corner
Bostjan Cesar is the unluckiest man on the pitch, collecting a booking and conceding a penalty - that Frank Lampard converts - for a collision with Rooney, which twists his ankle and sees him substituted
Jermain Defoe, again a second-half substitute for England, gets his fifth goal in three international matches with a shot from the edge of the box, cleverly aiming for the nearer post and being aided by a deflection
Aaron Lennon, another Tottenham man in form, comes on and proves a better attacking option than Shaun Wright-Phillips but, with Glen Johnson behind, England continue to look vulnerable down their right-hand side
Slovenia pull back a late goal as good work down England's right leads to a cross that Zlatan Ljubijankic nods home at the near post to the frustration of Robert Green and Fabio Capello
Poland 1-1 Northern Ireland (1930): George McCartney is unlikely to start but a win could put Nigel Worthington's side, who haven't reached a major tournament since 1986, top of their qualifying group
Either team could still win (and both can hope to qualify from) their group, which Slovakia lead before kick-off, leading to high tension inside the Slaski Stadium, punctuated by the good humour outside it
The men in green control much of the first half with the home defence looking slow and Kyle Lafferty going close before David Healey feeds him to slot in the opening goal
Jonny Evans clears an effort by Ludovic Obraniak off the line before the break but Poland get the equaliser they deserve through Mariusz Lewandowski following a counter-attack down the left wing
Martin Paterson misses two chances and makes a public display of his frustration at the final whistle but he, Worthington, and their team can be proud of their performance and a point that sends them top of their group
