Norway 4-0 Scotland: With the home side in trouble at the bottom of their World Cup qualifying group, Scotland hope to better their 0-0 draw against the Norwegians in Glasgow
A scrappy first half sees six bookings before Gary Caldwell collects his second yellow card on 33 minutes; John Arne Riise then smashes home the resulting free-kick, clattering off Scott Brown to put Norway ahead
Morten Gamst Pederson makes it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time after Norway hit the Scotland defence, yet to organise themselves following Caldwell's dismissal, on the break
Though Scotland hope to minimise the second-half damage Norway add two further goals through Erik Huseklepp, after John Carew hits both posts, and Pederson's deceptive free-kick
Montenegro 2-1 Wales: In Craig Bellamy's absence Joe Ledley takes the Wales captaincy for the third time against Montenegro, playing only their 17th international match since establishing independence from Serbia
Sam Ricketts, Aaron Ramsey and Simon Church look in good form but the hosts take the lead from the penalty spot through Stefan Jovetic after Danny Gabbidon's foul on Simon Vukcevic
Montenegro, ranked 96th in the world, go 2-0 up through Radomir Djalovic, fed by Vukcevic's pinpoint ball, before Wales draw a goal back through Sam Vokes' header from Rickett's cross
Netherlands 2-2 England: Bert van Marwijk's side, unassailable at the top of Scotland's group, and already qualified for South Africa 2010, test the early season fitness of their squad against England
The visitors are soon behind as Rio Ferdinand gifts the ball to Dirk Kuyt who twice has to get around Robert Green before blasting the ball past John Terry on the line
The indecision is rife in the England defence as this time Gareth Barry gives the ball away to Arjen Robben, Green makes the save but Rafael Van der Vaart helps himself to the rebound and an empty net, 2-0
Despite one moment of good work between Emile Heskey and Wayne Rooney, England's first 45 minutes are sloppy and the players will not expect any half-time cheer from their manager or 7,000 travelling fans
Capello makes three changes, including Jermain Defoe who takes his chance to score within five minutes of the restart, controlling the ball over his shoulder before a clever left-foot strike
James Milner, another second-half substitute does well to win the ball on the left wing, get to the line and slide in a cross that Defoe converts to bag his second and earn England the draw
Northern Ireland 1-1 Israel: Despite the 3-0 loss to Italy in their last game Nigel Worthington keeps several members of his young team in place for the friendly against Israel at Windsor Park
Chris McCann of Scunthorpe puts the home side ahead drawing a foul 20 yards from goal and curling home the free-kick to bring some passion in to the game
Israel equalise eight minutes later through Elyaniv Barda, and go close later on through Tamir Cohen and Roberto Colautti, Kyle Lafferty also heading just over for Northern Ireland
Among the older heads in the Northern Ireland side David Healy earns his 75th cap, though Warren Feeney misses out after recent hip surgery. (Photo credits: Pacemaker / David Pacemaker)
