Alan Hutton says he is relishing the challenge of fighting for his place in the Scotland team after four months out with a foot fracture.

The Tottenham Hotspur full-back was named in George Burley's squad to face Argentina at Hampden next week.

"It's obviously a massive game for me," said Hutton.

"I've missed the last few Scotland games so I'm looking forward - if selected - to coming up and showing what I can do."

Hutton was one of the star performers during Scotland's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.

But, injury has curtailed his appearances under current manager Burley to just one against Croatia in March.

Rangers' Kirk Broadfoot has played in the right full-back position in the last two World Cup qualifiers, and his former Rangers teammate Hutton knows he faces a battle to reclaim his place.

"Kirk has done really well. He has been given an opportunity and grasped it," said Hutton.

"It's going to be up to me to come back and show the manager what I can do.

"I need to stay fit and keep playing well for Spurs to hopefully get my place in the team back."

And although Scotland have taken just four points form their first three World Cup qualifying matches, Hutton believes the team can still make it to South Africa in 2010.

"We still have a chance as you can never doubt Scotland," said Hutton.

"We showed in the last campaign what we can achieve when we are put under pressure.

"It's not been a great start but there are still a lot of games left to be played. I am sure we can do something."
