Earnshaw eager to shine for Wales
Striker Robert Earnshaw says he is out to make the most of his first Wales squad spot in six months in Wednesday's friendly against Georgia in Swansea.
"It was disappointing to be left out - I've always wanted to play for Wales and it's not nice when your dream's taken away," said the 27-year-old.
"I had a fantastic record early on in my Wales career, if I want that to carry on I have to be out playing.
"I'm looking forward to the future. I'm feeling fresh, excited about football."
Wales manager John Toshack dropped Earnshaw last year, citing a lack of games for Premier League strugglers Derby County.
He won the last of his 39 caps against Germany last November, was an unused substitute in Wales' February friendly against Norway, and knows he is slipping down the international pecking order.
Teenage stars Ched Evans and Sam Vokes have impressed for Wales' Under-21 team and have fired Brian Flynn's youngsters to the verge of the Uefa finals.
Both Manchester City ace Evans and Wolves summer signing Vokes will be in Flynn's Under-21 team to play Romania in a Uefa qualifier in Wrexham on the same night Wales' senior team play Georgia.
Now, with captain Craig Bellamy injured, Toshack has been forced to recall Earnshaw following his 2.65m move to Championship new boys Nottingham Forest.
"I feel the problems have all been down to a bad move to Derby, that's how football goes," the Cardiff man told BBC Sport Wales.
"I needed a change of scene and now I'm in a great place.
"Forest are a big, big club who are looking forward and building for the future.
"We want to do things in the Championship and get to the Premier League."
