The Republic of Ireland will face Poland in an international friendly at Croke Park on 19 November.
The match, against a team currently ranked 32nd in the world, will be the Republic's final match of 2008.
Giovanni Trapattoni's Republic side open their World Cup qualification campaign with a tricky away clash against Georgia on 6 September.
The Republic will be away to Montenegro on 10 September before the home game against Cyprus on 15 October.
Poland and the Republic last met in April 2004 when the sides played out a 0-0 draw in Bydgoszcz.
The friendly will be Poland's first visit to Ireland since May 1991 European Championship qualifier.
