Terry has 39 England caps - 10 as captain |
John Terry insists he would be happy to hand over the England captaincy if asked to by new manager Fabio Capello. Terry, who is currently out with a foot injury, believes he will be fit for the Switzerland friendly on 6 February.
But the Wembley international could also mark Beckham's 100th England cap and he could be handed the armband.
"It would be great for his family for him to have the armband. But it doesn't matter who is captain. It's a decision I will fully respect," said Terry.
"The most important thing is making England great again; if we can get England back to winning ways it will make everyone happy," added the Chelsea captain.

More than 60,000 tickets have been sold for Capello's first game in charge and Beckham has been training with Arsenal as he looks to stay in the England picture.
The 32-year-old is keeping his fitness levels up with the Gunners during the close season for his Major League Soccer employers Los Angeles Galaxy.
"David has been in great form for England since he has come back. It's great to see him training at Arsenal and ticking over," added Terry.
"He is fit and has many years ahead of him. He is a great player and a great lad to have around the place. We hope that not only does he play his 100th, but many more after that."
Beckham was made England captain in 2000 by then caretaker manager Peter Taylor and remained skipper for six years, leading the team 58 times, before standing down at the end of the World Cup in Germany.
