Givens and Howe to help Republic
Don Givens
Don Givens will be involved in finding the new Republic manager
Republic of Ireland football bosses have turned to veteran coaching duo Don Givens and Don Howe to carry out the search for a new international manager.

Four members of the FAI board met Givens and Howe on Friday to set out the credentials needed for the job as Steve Staunton's successor.

Givens is coach of the Republic's Under-21 side and current caretaker boss of the senior team.

Former Arsenal manager Howe worked under Terry Venables with England.

FAI chief executive John Delaney said after the meeting: "Over the past month we laid the groundwork for the next stage in the process.

"We have finalised the terms of reference, the criteria and financial package. The process has now been handed over to the panel."
