Northern Ireland have moved up a place to 28th position in the latest Fifa world rankings despite not having played a competitive match since March.

Nigel Worthington's side are in the running to qualify for Euro 2008 and play Liechtenstein in their next qualifying match on 22 August.

The Republic of Ireland have slipped one place from 38th to 39th.

England are now 12th, Scotland 22nd and Wales 74th with Brazil topping the rankings ahead of Argentina and Italy.
